Tour de Windhoek 2017 – great results for the P.A.Y. RMB cycling team

Jo-Joe Hamunyela, who started his cycling career at P.A.Y. back in 2008, riding in his first cycling event back for the P.A.Y. RMB team was the overall winner of the Tour de Windhoek 2017 light with the support of Hollard and Pupkewitz Megabuild. The race finished in Windhoek on Sunday, 27th August.

He finished this 3-day 3 stage race of 210km in a total time of 5:46:11 (STAGE 1 - 1:58:40, STAGE 2 - 2:07:15 and STAGE 3 - 1:40:15). Other two P.A.Y. senior cyclists finished in strong positions too:

  • Melki Hamukoto 16th in General Classification (6th in OMEN category) in a time of 6:00:41
  • Vianey Links 26th in General Classification (9th in OMEN category) in a time of 6:29:51

Melki faced mechanical problems in stage 2 which led him to drop in the overall ranking but did well to recover and finish 16th.
